Fall City Elementary PTSA 2.18.15

What is the purpose of PTSA fundraisers?

The Fall City Elementary PTSA is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  It is our mission to partner with our teachers and community to support our school in providing the best educational experience for our children. As school funding continues to be challenged and learning expectations climb, it is becoming more important for the PTSA to fund and support programs that enrich our children's academic, social, and emotional development. To achieve this mission, we rely on our parents and community to participate in and donate to fundraising efforts throughout the school year.  It is the goal of the PTSA to ensure that we can continue to fund academic enrichment programs, staff and school grants, and PTSA events and services year after year.

Where do your donation dollars go?

PTSA creates a yearly budget which is solely funded through our fundraising efforts. Our budget reflects programs, grants, and events to support our students in academics, socially and emotionally, as well as providing events to bring together the FCES community. Academic programs supported by your fundraising dollars include Maker Space, Reading Buddies, Science Fair, Reading Hall of Fame, Assemblies, and the Spelling Bee. PTSA grants for staff and school provide supplies for instruction and reading support that directly impacts students. As far as social, emotional and community development, fundraising dollars provide for Kindergarten Tea and Tissues, Popsicle Social, Family Dinner, Artwalk, Parent Play Days, Teacher and staff Appreciation, and more. Each year monies are also spent to help with Walk-a Thon and our Spring Raffle & Silent Auction to ensure a great time had by all and significant funds raised to support programs provided by PTSA.

What fundraisers will be done this school year?

The PTSA's goal is to minimize the number of fundraisers during the school year so that we can focus our efforts on programs and events that are beneficial to the students and fun for our families.  Our largest fundraiser is the annual Walk-A-Thon which will be held in October. We will be bringing back our Mixed Bags fundraiser in mid -January.  Our final big fundraiser is the Spring Raffle & Silent Auction event to be held in April.
